I returned the course immediately on18.10.05 despite his “Catch 22″ proviso. No reply. Reminder letter sent 15.11.05. No reply. E-mailed 16.12.05. No reply. Telephoned 020.7298.6106 on 16.1.06. This telephone number was supplied by UK Business Oppportunity Review (thanks.) Spoke to a charming girl, Lisa. She promised she would pass on my comments to Dowdes. No reply. Telephoned Lisa again on14.02.06. She assured me that Dowdes had given refunds to some. Again promised to pass on my complaint. Received a cheque for Ј59.00 on 16.02.06.

If this was 1962 then it might be worth a couple of shillings. I have never come across such a pile of rubbish purporting to be cutting edge information in my life. I wonder if Mr. Dowdes (if that is his real name) is on the same planet. I purchased this pile of junk in August 2005 and am still waiting for my refund now in February 2006. I think the 90 days is up or is Mr. Dowdes in some other world where he maybe met up with Dr Who and has been caught up in some sort of time vortex.
Lifestyles coach my ass. My 6 year old son could have put together a more convincing package than this.
My advice – steer well clear Mr. Dowdes has delusions of grandeur, and is in need of urgent psychological help or both in my opinon.

I returned the start up businesses information to A.C Dowdes after 5 weeks (well within his 90 day money back guarantee). It was sent back recorded delivery and signed for on the 21st November 2005. I waited 14 working days then tried to contact him via the phone number of his brochure. It was just a answering service that took my message and said they’d pass it on. I’ve yet to receive a call from him. I contacted Trading Standards in Westminster but although they had received other complaints they said there wasn’t enough to do anything with him at the moment. So I’m down Ј65 and no longer have the goods.
Please warn your members that this man at best is a unhonourable man and at worst a …….!

If I may mention just a few points regarding the 140 page manual. “The Ultimate Wealth Creating Business.”
“Everyone has heard of people getting cheated because they were foolish enough to respond to a mail order offer. And most people were reluctant to be the next victim–no matter how good the offer sounded.” How appropriate! If Dowdes ever has a coat-of-arms made, those words should be its maxim. The manual was not written by Dowdes. It was an American publication. Further advice from the manual included renting office space, purchase of expensive office equipment, providing potential customers with one’s home telephone number and sending out 10,000 letters on one’s first mail order venture. On the subject of hiring a lawyer, the manual advised “Hiring the lawyer with the worst reputation in town!” Not the exact words, but the sentiment is explicit. At that stage I decided to return the course. But Dowdes had anticipated such action. Having given a “90 days guarantee.” He stated in his covering letter that no returns would be accepted until “after 90 days of receipt of his information package.” Thus invalidating the guarantee. How very convenient!

Well I am very worried as I have read the other reviews and they support my disappointment with this product. I have to say any opportunity I have returned from other companies i.e. Streetwise, have always refunded my money – no questions asked. This has given me the confidence to try other opportunities. I will have to review this practice if I do not get the refund as promised in the original material.

From marketing material I was expecting something more but would say that for modest cost it is worth examining to see if it could work for you, 90 day money back guarantee in place.

Well when I did have a boot sale a while back I spent a day preparing and half a day freezing and bored at in a field and managed to raise Ј42.00. Mr Dowdes reckons you can easily raise Ј500 doing this, I don’t know anyone who has. I couldn’t live with myself charging people Ј1.50 a minute for premium rate rubbish and there is stiff competition so it looks like a potential loser to me anyhow. Direct Mail is a good one that I was already in the process of attempting. If I can’t offer better value to customers than this deal I will eat my hat. I have to admit to not having the slightest inclination to try the rest as it just feels like I’ve been ripped off with old worthless info, which I don’t consider necessary in this day and age. When I called several times to ask for a refund I was fobbed off. After 90 days I will try again but not optimistic.
