Having made a number of purchases over the years for various trading systems, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this, on the surface at least, represents great value.

However, what really counts is the education found within the course and how does this translate to the real world of trading for a novice trader and/or experienced trader?

I think that the majority of people looking at any review of a product will first and foremost want to know, who is behind the product.  Vince Stanzione has been a successful trader for a little over 20 years and, according to published statements on his site, now averages  £25k a week in 2010.

So a decent pedigree and what we really want to know is, does the course show you how to begin trading using spread betting and are the methods employed going to be profitable.

Well, it’s a resounding  yes to both questions.  In the detailed course book and within the DVD’s Vince walks us through the placing trades on a number of spreadbetting platforms. All the basics are covered such  as risk per trade such and  the correct  use of entry/exit criteria.

He also shares with us a number of extremely easy to use strategies which he uses to make his trades.  The primary focus in on trend trading which all of the great traders over time have employed as it unveils virtually no screen time and simple proven rules.

The best thing about the course for me is that it is easy to digest and makes total sense as far as how the markets really work and what we as would be traders need to do to profit. His trade style is such that he doesn’t ever spend time in front of the computer during the day. His approach is about getting into the clearly defined trends, as dictated by the system rules, and staying with them and only exiting when his rules dictate. So here’s a simple Set and forget system which will take out he emotional problem you can find with day trading . Even, with losses occurring, the system encourages the cut the losses short and let the profits run mentality.

Because the system is end of day, this in effect means that the system is ideal to anyone who is employed and wishes to trade as a supplementary income or the retired who don’t want to be glued to screens all day. Simply check the charts, or even use the website as he does a lot of the work for you, and then either re-enter or exit a trade if the criteria are met.

On watching the introduction video it quickly becomes apparent that I should probably have watched the learning DVDs before I can make real sense of the Tradefinder so I will do that now.

Trade The Banks DVD 1
The first DVD starts with giving you a background in Guy Cohen’s experience. Although I have heard of him before I didn’t realise how much experience he has. He has written numerous books, some on the behalf of the Financial Times.
After a brief taster of some of his previous students’ success stories, you are thrust straight into the good stuff.
Of course before you can be let loose on the markets, you have to know some background information. For example what are we trading, why are we trading them, what we will use to trade them and some safety rules.

The OVI
Guy has developed his own indicator which is a secret formula to discover what the big players are doing in the markets. Don’t worry this isn’t some mystical powers at large. Guy’s indicator can give you an idea when the smart money is either building or reducing a holding in on particular company. The key to this indicator is it is not based on price and is in fact a leading indicator to be used in conjunction with certain chart patterns. This is a propriety tool and therefore is not available anywhere else so you can be sure that only you and Guy’s students will be using this system.

Although the indicator looks amazing, Guy stresses the point that you do not trade using this tool alone. Charts always come first and Guy then covers some of the patterns that you will be looking at. Unfortunately if you are a newbie to trading then you may be a little confused at what the patterns mean. All this will be revealed in the stock overview section of this DVD.

As the OVI indicator is using information from the options markets, Guy gives you a background in options. It is not vital to know for this course but it is interesting information.

Stock Overview
In this section of the DVD, Guy covers more of the foundations of trading. He goes over some of the ways price action can be displayed and explains in depth about the patterns will be using going forward. I am really impressed at the information so far and it is only the first disk!

The basic overview then continues to show some more patterns and how news releases can affect your trading.

DVD 2
This DVD starts to delve further into the patterns that you will be using in conjunction with the OVI. First of all Guy kicks off with flag patterns which include cup and handle patterns. Don’t worry you will learn all about it when watch the DVDs. The next step in learning about how to trade the flags is where to place your entry and stop points. It is vital that you watch this section of the DVD as many times as necessary to ensure you have covered all of the salient points. In my experience risk management forms a large part of if you are a successful trader or not. As I have come to expect from Guy’s tutorial he covers all aspects of the entry and stop loss points to help you manage your risk.

Flag Profit taking
If you are looking to buy this product then you definitely will be interested in the profit taking section of the DVDs. Guy mentions that a large number of losses are due to traders being greedy and not taking profits when they are on the table. Using this easy to understand technique, you can improve the amount of profits you have. Plus it allows winning trades to run and run.

Trading Breakouts
Much like Guy did with the flag patterns, he now demonstrates how you can use his special indicator in conjunction with break out patterns. I am actually so excited about using the system I have funded a real account instead of a demo one!!

Breakout Profits
The great thing about this course is that the rules are logical and although the rules are slightly different depending on the situation you are faced with they are very straight forward.

Trading Reversals
Another good point about this course is that Guy recaps on certain bits of information to make sure that you have absorbed the relevant learning for the next step. I do feel like I am in a classroom and I have learnt quite a bit in the 2 dvds so far.

DVD 3
So now on to DVD 3 and my head is spinning with everything I have learned. But don’t feel worried about not understanding it all, I am sure a couple of reviews of the information will have you thinking like a professional trader.

The first part of this DVD covers risk management. This is another important part of the trading as you don’t want to blow your bank in one bad trade.
I must admit that the risk management is more geared towards stock ownership rather than spread betting (which is what I use) but the rules are the same you just have to work out how the rules apply to your own situation.

Placing Your Trades
This part of the course takes you through the terminology used when buying shares using a broker. Even if you are not using a broker to purchase your shares, it does contain some information that you may not already know.
Of course Guy does have to cover spreadbetting for UK clients. He highlights the differences between buying through a traditional broker and using spreadbetting to trade stocks.
He also goes through an example including all the relevant fees to compare them.

Putting it all together
The final section of this DVD is where we look at all the areas that we covered in the previous DVDS. Guy also looks at the tradethebanks platform.
So that comes to the end of the tuition but not the end of the learning. DVD 4 has some real life examples for you to try and develop your intuition.

Trading Examples
Wow after watching some of the examples, I can feel the confidence rising inside of me. So much so I have placed my first live trade using the system! The worked examples are a fantastic addition to build on your learning.

Conclusion
As this was the first time I have experienced Guy’s work, I didn’t have any preconceptions. However after watching the course I have nothing but good things to say about it. Even if you are a complete beginner, you will be confident enough to be placing your first trades after watching and learning the DVDs. You will make mistakes as that is the nature of trading, but I am sure that if you review the DVDs and watch the examples you will learn from them.
